Everything We Saw At Summer Game Fest 2026

It’s June and that means it’s time for Geoff Keighley’s world-premiere-palooza, Summer Game Fest. The show includes a ton of new trailers and reveals for upcoming games, and usually a weird celebrity stunt appearance or two (though we were spared that this time). If you couldn’t watch the show live, no worries, you can watch the VOD below or keep scrolling for a list of all the highlights

Resident Evil Veronica

Kicking off the show is a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica simply called Resident Evil Veronica. Unlike previous Resident Evil remakes, it appears this one might use the first-person perspective that has become common in the series since Resident Evil 7. It’s coming to Steam, PS5, PC, and Switch 2 in 2027.

Two Cuphead games

Studio MDHR was next with an announcement that a new Cuphead game is coming, and made a point to say it was hand drawn. Meanwhile a smaller team is also working on something “completely different,” Mighty Cuphead Adventure, which is an 8-bit platformer designed to look and feel like a retro flashback to old-school licensed sidescrollers.

Alien Isolation 2

Sega is next with a new teaser trailer for Alien: Isolation 2. As the trailer demonstrates, this game leaves the space-station confines of its predecessor behind and sets the Xenomorph free on a colony world.

gen Atlas

Famito Ueda, the lead behind IcoShadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, brought a new look at his studio’s next game, which was previously codenamed “Project Robot” when it was first revealed at the 2024 Game Awards. Now that the project is a bit further along, it has a real name and is a lot more action-packed than the rest of Ueda’s catalog. The game is called genAtlas, and it’s coming to the Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Blood Message

NetEase showed off 24 Entertainment’s upcoming action game Blood Message, and in between all the gory combat, it seems to have a touching story about the main character caring for his son as they travel through perilous, war-worn China in 848 AD. Dad game.

Stranger Than Heaven

RGG Studio was up next with a new look at Stranger Than Heaven, its upcoming Yakuza Like a Dragon prequel set across multiple decades of the 20th century….and it has the long-deceased rapper Tupac in it for some reason? It’s coming out on January 15.

Crossfire

That’s No Moon, a team made up of developers who worked on games like Call of Duty and The Last of Us, has finally revealed its first game, called Crossfire. It’s a cinematic cover shooter with stealth elements, but it also seems to have some kind of horror undertones that it only briefly gestures at when we see someone on an operating table seemingly end up possessed or something? The trailer doesn’t really show this off, but the devs are trying to do something wild with the game’s cover system. Our own Zack Zwiezen got a look at the game, and you can read more about it here.

For the open-world driving sickos, Clutch is a new project from Maverick Games that will…sorry I got distracted by them setting the trailer to The Killers’ “All These Things That I’ve Done.” That song rules.

Anyway, Clutch is a story-driven racing game that will have you driving both on race tracks and on the streets, and it’s from folks who worked on the Forza games.

Vincent and Cid will join the party as playable characters. There’s no sign of Aerith in the trailer, despite the weird dead/not dead state Square Enix left her in at the conclusion of Rebirth. Unlike the first two games, it will come to all platforms at launch, rather than having a brief period of PlayStation exclusivity. It will launch in Spring of 2027.
