Following a big reveal in summer 2025, ambitious large-scale RTS Ashes of the Singularity 2 has reappeared to give us a release date, and it’s almost here.
Developer Oxide Games and publisher Stardock Entertainment have revealed the sequel will be launching on November 10 on Steam, though players will also be able to grab it via Stardock’s website and “other partners” in the future.
Two editions will be available: The Standard Edition is launching for $39.99; with a big Premium Edition that includes the game, the first three DLC packs, and the original soundtrack for $69.99. Both “will carry a special 20% launch discount” until November 17.
Adrian Wright, Vice President of Entertainment at Stardock, said the following:
“We’re grateful to every player who jumped in during Next Fest and our playtests. Ashes of the Singularity II is a better game because of them… On November 10, the fight to save humanity begins in massive-scale RTS battles we’re eager for players to experience.”
In Ashes of the Singularity 2, players can lead humanity in a single-player campaign or control any of the three factions in classical instant action skirmish and multiplayer. The design is asymmetrical, meaning each group plays differently.
It seems the plan is to launch the RTS straight into 1.0, so strategy fanatics can expect all these features at launch (as listed by Stardock):
- Massive Armies, Vast Battlefields: Command thousands of units in real time across continent-sized maps, with Strategic Zoom letting players move seamlessly from orbital command to frontline combat.
- Face Enemies of Our Own Making: Take command of the United Earth Forces, the Post-Human Coalition, or the AI Substrate, each with unique units, strategies, and philosophies.
- Be the Commander: Victory comes from planning and logistics, not speed or reflexes, letting players focus on strategy rather than unit-by-unit control.
- Unify Humanity Under Your Command: Lead humanity’s United Earth Forces against Post-Human expansion and Substrate machinations in a story rooted in a near-future scenario of survival and restoration.
- Endless Replayability: Generate custom battlefields and take on computer-controlled opponents designed by some of the industry’s most experienced RTS developers.
- Multiplayer, Competitive and Co-Op: Join friends or rivals online in head-to-head matches or team up in cooperative battles.
- All-Terrain Warfare: Defeat humanity’s foes on frozen lakes, treacherous mountain passes, and lava-filled chasms that change with persistent damage as the battle rages on.
Ashes of the Singularity 2 will release on November 10, 2026, exclusively on PC via Steam.
