How about a little look ahead at what’s apparently coming to Subnautica 2? Following the game’s incredibly strong launch that is probably going to force Krafton to pay out that $250 million bonus after all, Unknown Worlds have released another dev log outlining a few details about future updates.
First up are a couple of hotfixes. These will apparently see to crashes, add in more silver deposits and troilite, plus things like adjusting predator attack frequency, damage and avoidance when you deter them (an issue which has been a bit of a sticking point for some). Performance improvements will continue too, with a particular highlight placed on epic settings, which should run a bit better in the coming updates. You can expect more bug fixes too.
There are some smaller updates planned too. The biomods system will also see some improvements with the ability to unlock several passive slots, alongside adding in a few more biomod options in the early game. Wrecks are also getting “gameplay improvements,” and that’s all you’re getting out of that detail.
Blight encounters will apparently feel more obvious re: parasite aggression too, and the devs are working on a priority system for voice over, making sure you hear the important bits when you need to. You’ll be able to replay voice logs from the PDA on top of this. A number of additions are on the way for the co-op side of things like emotes and proximity voice chat, the latter of which will be added in “as soon as possible.”
The dev log also teased the return of the prawn suit from the first game, which should arrive as part of the game’s next new region update. This new region will have new creatures and resources, and you’ll apparently be able to jump in wherever you are in your current save file. Lots of little bits promised in this one, but hey ho, it’ll come with time.
